Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-01
BrainBoost Kids (the "app") is published by Mohamed Yahyani,
contactable at admin@coloka.ca. This policy describes what data the app
handles, why, and how you can reach us about it.
1. Who this app is for
BrainBoost Kids is designed primarily for children aged 6–12. It complies
with Google Play Families Policy, the U.S. Children's Online Privacy
Protection Act (COPPA), and the EU General Data Protection Regulation
(GDPR) as it applies to minors.
2. What information we collect
The app does NOT ask for, collect, or transmit personally-identifying
information about your child. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Real name (the "name" you enter is stored only on the device)
- Email address or phone number
- Photos, contacts, or location
- Account credentials
The following data is stored ONLY on the device and never leaves it:
the chosen nickname, language preference, current subject (Math /
Geometry / Logic / Memory / Alphabet / Words), star count, streak
counter, and which difficulty tiers have been unlocked. You can wipe
all of it at any time by uninstalling the app.
3. Advertising
The app shows ads served by Google AdMob. Because the app is targeted
at children, every ad request is tagged for child-directed treatment
(TAG_FOR_CHILD_DIRECTED_TREATMENT_TRUE) and restricted to General-Audience
content (MAX_AD_CONTENT_RATING_G). This means:
- Ads served are non-personalized — they are not based on any
browsing or app-usage history.
- No advertising identifier (AAID) is used to target your child.
- AdMob receives standard technical request information (device model,
OS version, coarse country, language, IP address) needed to deliver
an ad.
Google's privacy practices for AdMob are described at
https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
4. EU users — GDPR consent
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or
Switzerland, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform on first
launch to give you control over how your data is handled. You can
change your choice later by reinstalling the app or asking us to
reset it.
5. Crash reporting
The app may use Firebase Crashlytics to report unexpected crashes.
Crash reports contain a stack trace, device model, OS version, and
app version — no personal data, no IP address, no contact information.
6. Third-party services
The app integrates with the following Google services:
- Google AdMob — ad delivery (see Section 3).
- Google User Messaging Platform — GDPR consent UI (EU users only).
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting (Section 5).
- Google Play Services — required by AdMob.
We do NOT use social-media SDKs, third-party analytics other than what
is listed here, or push-notification services.
7. Children's privacy (COPPA)
We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children
under 13. If you believe your child has provided us with information
they shouldn't have, please email admin@coloka.ca and we will delete it
promptly.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the "Last updated" date above will change.
Material changes will be announced via an in-app notice on the next
launch.
